At the end of this course, delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Understand the industry, its risks, and operator responsibilities.
- Know the manufacturer’s handbook for the machine used.
- Identify and explain the major components of the machine.
- Locate and explain key controls and their functions.
- Set up exclusion zones for safe operation.
- Identify and maintain the appropriate PPE for overhead crane use.
- Conduct pre-operational and running checks per manufacturer and legislative requirements.
- Prepare the overhead crane for use and operate it safely and efficiently.
- Understand environmental considerations in crane operations.
- Carry out all end-of-work and shutdown procedures.
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years. After this period, a refresher course is required.
